JOB SUMMARY:

As the Executive Director - Portfolio Analytics, you will be responsible for leading the Portfolio Analytics team, overseeing CG’s investment analysis, performance analytics, and property budgeting and forecast functions. You play an important role in providing analytical support to the core Portfolio Management, Acquisitions, and Strategic Solutions teams.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee investor, investment, and portfolio analysis, including review of financial models, calculations, and reports. This may include analysis that informs acquisitions, dispositions, or current holdings. Coordinate and manage use of external analytics resources when applicable. Lead and implement adjustments to CG’s investment analytics process to respond to new market opportunities, strategies, and firm requirements.
  • Provide investor relations and client reporting support for the Portfolio Management Team as needed. This may involve helping draft client reporting materials, coordinating information requests, or participating in client meetings. Ensure accounts that you or your team support are managed to CG standards.
  • Supervise investment performance calculation activities including review of calculations and reports.
  • Oversee annual budgeting cycle and ongoing budget reporting. Ensure the process is aligned with acquisition models, long-term plans, and practical operational considerations.
  • Drive initiatives to standardize data and data governance practices to ensure we have high-quality data sources to inform our analysis.
  • Coach, develop, and train team members to perform at their best and prepare for advancement within the firm.
  • Lead and influence across departments to improve processes.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BS in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Forestry, or an equivalent field of study; and a minimum of ten years working experience in a related field; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience leading, developing, and managing investment professionals.
  • Experience leading and implementing change at scale within a product, business, or function. Ability to influence and lead complex business situations.
  • Proven ability to communicate well with a broad array of individuals in the field of investment advisory, real asset management and financial management, with demonstrated ability to establish and leverage productive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent working knowledge of accounting practices and guidelines, including financial reporting requirements, entity and tax structuring.
  • Working knowledge of investment industry.
  • Demonstrated financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, along with organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently under deadline situations.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • MBA, CFA, CAIA, or working toward that designation.
  • Timber investment industry knowledge.
