Innovation Development Full-Time Analyst Program

The Innovation Development Program (IDP) focuses on building the next generation of Product Managers and Designers who are focused on continuous innovation and enhancements, creating a long lasting and positive impact, and helping develop cutting-edge solutions to complex problems within Commercial Banking lines of business.

Start your career by partnering closely with our Commercial Banking Design teams to learn, grow, and contribute to JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s portfolio of work. You will be mentored by Design Team members to create dynamic visual solutions, research the needs of our users, and drive design thinking on matters that add value to our business and have real-life impact on our customers. 

What to expect

JPMorgan Chase is looking for highly motivated User Experience Designers and User Experience Researchers who will be part of multi-disciplinary teams committed to designing the future of banking through researching and designing useful, usable, and desirable products for our customers, clients, and employees. 

IDP Design Track analysts will focus on discovery, ideation, interaction design, prototyping, and delivery of final designs. They also find opportunities to participate throughout user-centered design processes and should have a desire to continually broaden and improve their skills.

What You’ll Do

  • You will begin your 2.5-year program with ~5 months CB project-based learning, diving into solving a complex business problem statement in an incubator environment and developing foundational knowledge of Product Design. Following the incubator experience, you’ll participate in two 12-month rotations located amongst a cohort of peers where you’ll have the opportunity to drive impact while launching your career.

Rotational responsibilities include:

User Experience Designers:

  • Contribute to the development of user-centric designs by applying baseline knowledge of experience design principles.
  • Assist in creating and refining storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively communicate and reflect design concepts and user journeys.
  • Support the implementation of accessibility guidelines and inclusive design practices to ensure a seamless experience for diverse users.
  • Participate in the collection and analysis of user feedback and data to identify areas for improvement and iterate on design solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with JPMC standards and adherence to documented UX parameters. 

User Experience Researchers:

  • Support research by preparing survey and interview documentation and help gather data on customer needs and preferences during the study phase.
  • Apply quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze data, identify patterns, and derive insights with the guidance of more senior researchers. 
  • Collaborate with team members to come up with research ideas to help better understand user needs and desires.
  • Contribute to discussions with team and peers on foundational experience research matters, sharing insights and recommendations for improvement..

Who We are Seeking

Key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in relevant design discipline (e.g., Interaction Design, HCI, User Experience Design) in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Engineering, Communications, etc.) 
  • Expected graduation date of December 2023 – May 2024
  • Fluency in English
  • Digital portfolio demonstrating the ability to think from the perspective of the user.
  • Follow through on commitments, executing quality work within expected timeframes.
  • Dynamic individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives; we believe if you're ready to put your passion for technology to work in a way that makes a real difference, you’ll find your place at JPMorgan Chase.

User Experience Designers:

  • Baseline knowledge or equivalent expertise in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design principles.
  • Familiarity with using industry standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Prior exposure to accessibility guidelines (e.g., W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Section 508, and the Communications and Video Accessibility Act).
  • Demonstrate an understanding of interaction principles and their application in designing user interfaces and experiences.
  • Experience testing prototypes and collaborating effectively with technical teams.

User Experience Researchers:

  • Baseline knowledge or equivalent expertise in user experience research methods, including data gathering, analysis, and interpretation techniques.
  • Developing proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, with a focus on deriving insights to inform user experience design decisions.
  • Familiarity with survey and interview design, ensuring questions are clear, unbiased, and relevant to research objectives.
  • Exposure to inclusive design principles, accessibility guidelines, and assistive technologies.
