Financial management tools should demonstrate the same care and craft as consumer software, designed with contemporary user- and human-centered practices. Content Design Leads are core to the transformation of product development at Chase, operating as a peer and partner with Product Management and Engineering.

Job Summary

As a Content Design Lead on the Operations team, you will focus on developing, designing, and setting standards for content as part of multi-disciplinary teams. Success in this role comes from understanding the customer and business needs, strong collaboration with peers, thoughtful planning and coordination across product development teams, taming complexity for our users, and participating in the full range of design practice, from up-front research, insights, and strategy, though to ideation, prototyping, and testing, and to delivery of final designs.

With no direct reports, the focus of this role is creative leadership in content matters, including mentoring and directing junior Content Designers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute and deliver content solutions that follow best practices and fulfill project requirements business goals, customer goals, controls, deadlines, and quality.
  • Create the structural design of product experience (navigation, labeling, flow), incorporating best practices in managing metadata.
  • Navigate the organization for content compliance, including legal and accessibility reviews.
  • Actively contribute to content systems (standards, voice and tone, messaging, and accessibility libraries).
  • Partner with Experience Leads in the creation of product vision, roadmaps, ideation, and prototyping.
  • Present work and articulate strategy and content decisions to senior Design leadership.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g., Interaction Design, HCI, English, Rhetoric), certification from credible bootcamp or similar accelerated learning program, or equivalent work experience.
  • Collaborate in both planning and structuring the work and executing on expected levels of quality.
  • Collaborate with design teams including Product Designers, UX Researchers, and Content Designers and cross-functionally with Product Managers and Software Engineers.
  • Advanced skills in UX Writing and Information Architecture; Intermediate ability in adjacent skills such as User Research, Interaction Design, and Visual/UI Design
  • Thorough knowledge of English language, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and usage
  • Extensive experience working with brand and copy standards, including style, voice and tone.
  • Prior experience with organizational navigation required for content compliance, including legal and accessibility reviews.

  • Advocate for Accessibility Guidelines and Inclusive Design practices
  • Led content work on successful digital products, demonstrating user- and human-centered design approaches.
  • Comfortable and confident when presenting work to leadership.
  • Understanding of business value and product strategy to lead to successful design outcomes.
