Role Description

The CIB Banking Technology team are looking for a Business Analyst to help an initiative within the Deal Execution space for Front Office Banking. The role involves managing multiple stakeholders and product partners, to deliver a best in class solution from back to front.

The role will be responsible for design, analysis, and program management of features in the rollout of a new platform across a wide sector of the Banking business. The right candidate will join a small and focused team within a wider application.

User engagement, process and workflow analysis, and data analysis are essential elements in our design process. The role will have significant connectivity with upstream data providers and directly with bankers, our primary customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake analysis of complex client workflows and datasets
• Design solutions in partnership with users, the UX team, architecture, and your software engineering feature team
• Map functional requirements to components to enable common solution design across the platform.
• Define the delivery of features for a program of work by articulating user-stories, writing functional and non-functional requirement documents, and executing a go-to-market (launch and feedback) plan
• Write user stories with very clear description and greater level of detail including input and output fields, all the use cases (positive and negative), leveraging techniques like spec by example, Gherkin syntax, or other structured specification approaches
• Create activity flow diagrams for different use cases, including clear segregation of functionality based on the context
• Serve as the subject matter expert for the team, understanding our customer’s needs and business drivers to shape appropriate solutions
• Hold the role of Product Owner in Agile ceremonies, working with your development team to prioritize work to ensure delivery, and thinking laterally to resolve blockers
• Ensuring appropriate use of data in features and continuous improvement of data standards
• Write SQL queries for data analysis of the existing models and business flows.
• Be responsible and accountable to the quality of the end-user experience through user research and stakeholder relationships; including the influencing of prioritization and direction
• Ensure features delivered on the platform are valuable to end-users and contribute to the program’s objectives and key results by monitoring the success of deliverables, and influence the roadmap with iterations that will provide continued improvement
• Influence and shape the products that bankers interact on a regular basis

• BS/BA degree or equivalent
• At least 5-7 years of experience in a business analyst, product owner or equivalent role in understanding business requirements
• Hands on experience in the functional design of complex enterprise systems
• Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD) including, but not limited to, context maps, context cards, anti-corruption layer, etc.
• Detailed understanding & experience in end-to-end software development frameworks like Agile / Scrum
• Well versed with JIRA or similar agile project management software creating stories, tracking story progress, etc.
• Experience in managing senior business stakeholders in global context
• Track record in working with stakeholders in different geographies
• A commercial mind-set to deliver short, medium and long term strategies to achieve sustained efficiency; an innovative thought process; focus on simplification;
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goal
