As a Client Service Trading Associate within Market Operations, you will be a trusted member of the client’s team and deeply connected to deliver the growth and success for an assigned portfolio of clients. In this role, you will serve as the operational point of contact for each client assigned to your portfolio. The assigned client portfolio may be comprised of operating transactional accounts that are comprised of Fixed Income Securities. A middle office associate is responsible for the strict control of trades, maintaining client relations , escalating to management where appropriate. Middle office works independently from the Front Office and is key to the control of the business, ensuring the highest level of quality is always achieved. The candidate will work closely with Trading, Sales, Technology, Operations, Audit and Compliance. In this role one should be familiar with Fixed Income products, proficient with PC skills and be comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manager workflows accurately and on time
  • Act as a primary support contact to ensure all front office and counterparty requested are handled with satisfaction.
  • Liaise with front office, middle office, credit documentation, and settlement teams to resolve client trade breaks.
  • Assist with project related to improving current processes to raise productivity and efficiency.
  • Participate in strategic middle office working group responsible for designing, building and implementing our future middle office model.
  • Identify control weaknesses in everyday processes to raise productivity and efficiency.
  • Identify Control weaknesses in everyday processes; develop & implement procedures that mitigate associated risks.
  • Allocate trades details and manage clients relations and communications.
  • Check Fails 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • College degree finance, accounting or economics related.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service, operations, middle office, preferably with work experience primarily in banking or the financial service industry
  • Product and regulatory knowledge about Bonds, Equities, CDOs, Loans, SPG, STFI, MUNIS and Treasuries. Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation/Markitwire, Trace, MSRB.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Tableau and Alteryx are a plus
  • General understanding of Risk and Profit and Loss (PNL)

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to establish credibi9lity and strong partnership with senior business and others control partners.
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to manager, prioritize, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven team work orientation skills
  • A flexible proactive attitude towards work balanced with effective time management and prioritization skills.

Work schedule

  • This hybrid roles requires going in the office three days a week with two days’ flexibility to work from home, subject to change
