Unifying data and analytics talent across the Firm, the Data Scientist encompasses a variety of Data & Analytics disciplines, from data governance and data strategy/partnerships, to reporting, data science and machine learning. You will partner closely with our technology partners, leveraging the cutting edge data and analytics infrastructure they have constructed to ensure front-line impact through transformational projects across sales and marketing in a team serving nearly half of America's households with a broad range of financial services, including: personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, small business loans and payment processing, the firm places a strong emphasis on digital banking, financial fitness, innovation, leadership, analytics and strategy.

Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a Data Scientist Lead to join the Customer Analytics team – in this you will play a critical role in developing an impactful analytic roadmap, going deep on specific analyses with support from our team of data scientists, and helping lead the transformation of the business by implementing major cross-functional initiatives. Examples of recent projects include customer segmentation, attrition mitigation, forecasting the evolution of customer channel usage, and identifying key competitive risks and opportunities by analyzing funds. You will be involved in the strategy to define and drive our analytic agenda, finding and prioritizing the most impactful opportunities to improve our business and customer experience and working analytically with our team of data scientists to develop comprehensive analytic plans and execute on analytic projects and to create cross-functional partners and work to establish new operating models, establish new solutions, and drive organizational change and Data innovation to find, screen, and work with external vendors who can provide data we do not have access to internally to improve our analytic capabilities – including piloting and developing proofs of concept.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 6 years of experience in strategy, management consulting, or similar skillset
  • 3 years of experience working with analytics, preferably in financial services 
  • 3 years of experience with SQL and at least one of the following analytical tools: Python (preferred)
  • Experience with visualization techniques for data analysis and presentation (Tableau preferred)
  • Passion for problem-solving. Must be able to think outside the box to implement creative solutions that solve business problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to turn complex data into concise client-friendly findings and recommendations
  • Self-starter who works independently and has the motor to drive change across the organization
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment, meet deadlines, and manage projects. Can stay organized and deliver at a high level while juggling a large book of work
