JPMC Candidate Experience page is Hiring an Applications Support AWS Near Columbus, OH

Working in Application Support means you'll use both creative and critical thinking skills to maintain application systems that are crucial to the daily operations of the firm. You'll work collaboratively in teams on a wide range of projects based on your primary area of focus: design or programming. While learning to fix application and data issues as they arise, you'll also gain exposure to software development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement, in addition to production lifecycle methodologies and risk guidelines. Finally, you'll have the opportunity to develop professionally —and to grow your career in any direction you choose.

Job responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot performance, application, and security related issues.
  • Collaborate with Application Development and Production Management teams as part of DevOps culture.
  • Collaborate and manage all production changes are made in accordance with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, application and business risk, technology controls guidelines, and error budget constraints. 
  • Support the day-to-day maintenance with a focus on reducing toil or technical debt of the applications while maintaining a high degree of system availability. 
  • Develop deep analytical application knowledge using root cause analysis in partnership with Infrastructure Support team members.
  • Support AWS based applications running the daily operations of the Data Lake.
  • Coach and mentor other team members.
  • This position is part of the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Infrastructure & Production Management (IPM) Team.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
  • Basic knowledge of application development.
  • Working knowledge in one or more general purpose programming languages, plus an interest in learning other coding languages and skills as needed.
  • Working knowledge of development toolset to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals.
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, design, and business processes.
  • AWS Cloud experience with knowledge of EKS, S3, Lake Formation, Glue.
  • Proficient skills for managing large Data Warehousing platforms (Hadoop, Teradata, Snowflake, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of Hadoop technology stacks (HDFS, HIVE, YARN, SPARK, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of AWS technology stacks (S3, EKS, GLUE, SPARK, etc.).
  • Demonstrative knowledge of Unix/Linux servers, Active Directory, Kerberos.
  • Proficient in one or more general purpose scripting (Unix Shell, Python, PowerShell) languages and SQL.
  • Understanding of network and cloud technologies i.e.: security, load balancing, and network routing protocols.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • At least 3 years hands-on experience in troubleshooting, deployment, monitoring, and application support leveraging tools such as: Splunk, DynaTrace, DataDog, Grafana, and Control-M.
  • Experience in automating manual task using Python, Unix Shell, PowerShell is a plus.
  • Must possess excellent communications skills and be able to message to the appropriate audience.
  • Must possess superior time management skills to manage changing and sometime conflicting priorities.
