Job title: Inspector

Qualifications:

  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade I and II certification is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an ACI I/II Inspector in a construction or engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ACI codes, ASTM standards, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with concrete testing equipment, tools, and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify and communicate potential issues or non-conformities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using computer software and applications for data management and reporting.

OR

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as an ICC Welding and Masonry Inspector or equivalent qualification.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, including but not limited to International Building Code (IBC), American Welding Society (AWS) codes, and ICC.
  • Proven experience conducting inspections and evaluating compliance in welding and masonry construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, techniques, and quality control measures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential safety hazards or non-compliance issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise reports and guidance.
  • Proficiency in using relevant inspection tools, equipment, and technology.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Physical ability to perform on-site inspections, including climbing ladders and navigating construction sites safely.

Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct special inspections of welding in construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Review plans, specifications, and relevant documentation to verify adherence to approved design requirements.
  • Identify and document any non-compliance issues, and deficiencies observed during inspections.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, reports, and findings by established procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with other inspectors and team members to ensure consistent interpretation and application of codes and standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments, techniques, and best practices in welding construction to enhance inspection processes and knowledge base.
  • Participate in training programs and workshops to expand your expertise and maintain relevant certifications.
  • Respond to inquiries, concerns, and complaints from the public, contractors, and other stakeholders, providing professional and timely assistance.

Qualifications:

  • Full Time Construction Inspector who will be assigned to the Construction Contract per the Work Order.
  • Provide a resume including a project list of work completed within the past three (3) years along with managerial and technical qualifications.
  • The Construction Inspector must have a minimum of a B.S or B.A degree and/or Registered Architect or NYS Professional Engineer License in Construction Technology/Construction Management or Architecture/Engineering and minimum of five (5) years’ experience in construction specialized in interior building fit outs, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and fire alarms and a minimum of three (3) years New York City Agency experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
