Description

We are currently looking for an energetic and dedicated full-time Clinical Faculty to join our International Clinical Program. The primary responsibilities of all clinical faculty are to implement the curriculum, instruct the students, and uphold the policies, procedures, goals, and objectives of the University. This position supports and advances experiential education through teaching and mentoring students, collaborating with partners, and developing clinical/fieldwork programs. The International Clinical Program helps organize various experiences for nursing and occupational therapy assistant (OTA) students and is knowledgeable of the curriculum and requirements for these programs.

WHAT YOU DO EVERYDAY: 

  • Evaluates student competency and progress, provides oral and written feedback with remediation when appropriate. Grades student assignments in a consistent manner. Reports at-risk students to leadership.
  • Maintain evidence of professional growth including membership and participation in professional organizations, continuing education, concurrent related practice experience, educational research, and an awareness of current practice standards
  • Attend staff meetings, pinning, graduation, and other University events
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement and professional development activities to enhance the teaching-learning process and provide evidence of participation to the HR Generalist
  • Assist in compilation of statistical data and other information as requested for accreditation and other organizational needs
  • Utilize instructional methods that accommodate various learning modes of students
  • Identify and remediate behavioral and academic deficiencies
  • Submit suggestions and supportive data for improving curriculum
  • Maintain integrity of curricular offerings
  • Works closely with international program team members to develop and improve international and domestic experiences. Maintains a high-level of digital and in-person engagement. 
  • Is comfortable independently leading groups of various sizes in a variety of demanding environments/areas that may have harsh climates, lack of access to sanitation (running water, soap, toilets), and limited access to communication and other resources.
  • Solves problems and takes appropriate action (collaboratively or autonomously when appropriate) in all settings and locations. 
  • Maintains updated knowledge related to traveling, living, and working in resource-poor areas. Ensures that safety is a priority. 
  • Mentors and supports students throughout domestic and experiential work. Seeks to facilitate excellent (better-than-good) experiences for students. 
  • Develops and maintains relationships with experiential partners.
  • Produces high-quality educational materials, presentations, and other scholarly work.
  • Evaluates student competency and progress, provides oral and written feedback with remediation when appropriate. Adheres to grading student assignments in a consistent manner. Reports at-risk students to leadership. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  

Required license: 

RN or PT, unencumbered in the State of Utah

Required education: 

Master’s degree in nursing or physical therapy (currently enrolled in a master's program may be considered)

Preferred Clinical Experience: 

2-3 years in nursing or physical therapy

Preferred teaching experience:  

2-3 years in teaching

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 

Location: Draper, UT and Remote

Employment Status: Full-Time

Hours of Employment: 40

Travel: 25-50%

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to look at the computer screen for extended periods of time, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to communicate clearly and exchange accurate information through speaking, hearing, and applying discernment.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be indoors or outdoors and may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. This may include a wide range of temperatures, humidity, and precipitation. There may be limited access to sanitation (running water, soap, toilets). The noise level of the work environment is usually low to moderate but may increase dependent on different environments.
