We are a really appreciative, open, organized, and fun family of 6 including our people-loving Golden Retriever. We both work from home, but I (Mom) will be helping with kids as well. Our goal in having a wonderful nanny is that we can divide and conquer! You would do our oldest daughter’s school pick-ups (her new school in the fall will probably be in the valley) and I would do all of the cooking, and pick up the other two younger kids. We’re not opposed to screen time (but we do have time limits), and once homework is done we want the kids to have more time for dance parties, board games, crafts, and movie nights!
Our 12-year-old is a sweet & creative pre-teen girl who loves Disney, princesses, throwing parties, baking, coloring, and anything art-related. She has Special Needs (Dyspraxia, ADHD, Anxiety, and slow processing speed). With teen hormones at play, she has become more challenging. She is having a hard time when she is told to do something she doesn’t want to do. When she is in a more relaxed environment and expectations are set, she does a lot better. The care is primarily for her!
Our 10-year-old is good at everything she touches. She loves basketball and soccer, but she’s also a stand-up comedian. She puts on shows for our family, and she’s a big theatre kid!
Our 6-year-old loves playing with clay and creating stories. He also loves playing soccer in the backyard.
A bit about you:
You’re fun, outgoing, and creative! You ideally have Special Needs experience and a big heart for children with Special Needs. You also have a thick skin, and can remain calm on tough days. You’re not a stranger to that classic teen attitude, and you want to work with a family where you make a big difference. You can set boundaries and expectations, and follow through. You are not only a safe driver with a safe car, but you enjoy driving! You are very comfortable assisting with elementary/middle school homework. People are always amazed by how patient you are. You love dogs and being around a large, lovable pooch makes this job sound ideal for you!
Job Duties: Start the afternoon driving directly to one of the schools (you get to clock in at 2p and get paid for your commute to one of their schools; Mom likes to trade off to spend time with her 3 children), homework help, remind the kids to do their easy chores, drive kids to extracurricular activities (where you could get your own homework done if needed while waiting), prepare snacks, heat up meals Mom has prepared, and play with them!
