Position Overview
The Per Diem Staff Registered Nurse (RN) assesses patients and their needs. They make appropriate suggestions regarding pain and symptom management in order to ensure comfort and quality of life. The Per Diem Staff Registered Nurse (RN) educates and supports patients and families regarding expectations during the end-of-life process and is responsible for the overall coordination of patient’s care.

Work Schedule – As needed during the day shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm

Required Experience:

Requirements for Staff Registered Nurse (RN) positions

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
• Training in hospice and palliative care and pain and symptom management, preferred
• Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois
• Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse preferred
• 1 to 3 years of experience as a registered nurse in the healthcare setting, preferably in hospice
• Certain positions require Pediatric skill competencies on an infant, toddler, preschool, school age or adolescent
• Computer skills (Word, Excel, patient database, e-mail), voicemail
• Competent in pain and symptom management
