We are a 6-bed detox/residential treatment facility in Van Nuys.
A Detox Technician that is enthusiastic about helping patients in the early stages of recovery is what we are looking for. A person who is capable of multitasking, reliable, and motivation.
We are looking for a detox tech that can maintain professional boundaries with residents while also ensuring resident safety and confidentiality. The Detox Technician's work will be done in accordance with the organization's values and principles.
Essential tasks and obligations:
Managing self-medication, doing urine tests, and safely searching for and storing personal belongings
State resident care criteria, including as 30 minute rounds, are followed every hour.
Residents must be interacted with and observed for at least 30 minutes within the first 72 hours following arrival. Whether it's during admissions, resident self-medication, or mealtimes, interaction happens all the time.
The detox technician's main duty is to pay attention to and engage with our residents as individuals. We learn the most about the locals from you because you are on the front lines.
recording observations for 30 minutes on the KIPU forms specified for the CNV Detox.
When necessary, takes measurements and records residents' vital indicators, including their height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and breathing.
The safety of our residents, employees, and facilities is crucial. To keep a strong staff presence and to ensure that staff members are constantly aware of resident behavior, all detox technicians are obliged to conduct quick walkthroughs of every area of the institution.
Detox technicians are in charge of keeping the facility clean by disinfecting, mopping, and sanitizing.
Due to the shift in the census, prepare a shopping list for every week (or as needed).
Education & Qualifications:
Having expertise in the field of recovery or a related human services field
Although it is not required, professional experience or prior detoxification experience is preferable.
Your CPR, First Aid, and DMV record must be clear in compliance with the employer's insurance requirements prior to starting work. A valid driver's license is required a willingness to assist individuals with drug dependency in recovery
Skills for working in a team, flexibility in response to changing conditions, and multitasking.
graduated from high school (or obtained a GED).
California State Law mandates that the detox technician be registered or certified.
