Joseph Int’l Freight Service is seeking a qualified, full-time Logistics Assistant to join our team. This position will be based at our office at 2506 Park Ave, Muscatine, Iowa.

Job Title: Logistics Assistant Job Type: Full time position. M-F, 8am – 5pm.

Salary: Commensurate with experience ($15-$17 dollars per hour)

Job Summary/Overview: Provide support to Logistics Coordinator and Operations Manager.

Experience: An associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Proven Skills Required: Effective communication, including writing, speaking and interpersonal communication. Organization and time management skills. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite) and ability to learn Transportation Management Software. Update and maintain database information accurately.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Documentation: Update and maintain Transportation Management Software database accurately. Support Logistics Coordinator by accurately creating and revising export and import documents.

Tracking: Daily tracking of all import and export shipments. Advise supervisors of any delays. Communicate with vendors to ensure shipment schedules are adhered to.

Customer Service: Build trusting professional relationships with vendors. Regular communication with vendors.

Rates: Support Operation Manager with quotation process and organization of rates.

Email: Process and file appropriately all emails daily.

Supervisors: Operations Manager and Office Manager

Expectations: Follow the mission statement. Adhere to company policies - On time, accurate performance of duties, confidentiality. Set a positive and professional attitude for the entire office.
