Position: Student Success Coordinator Term: 189 days 1 Additional Hour per day Classification: Certified/Exempt Location: Soaring Heights Elementary Qualifications

  • Valid Administrative Certification in Missouri
Supervisory: Supervises students. This position does not supervise or evaluate other staff members.Reports to: Building PrincipalCode: 002-3911-6111-4060-45100-4-000 Job Code: 140Under the direction of the Principal, the Student Success Coordinator will be responsible for achieving all school goals related to student success and family engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong teaching background and demonstrate leadership qualities in order to best serve all stakeholders.

  • Maintain courteous and professional relationships with students, parents/guardians, other district employees and the public.

  • Complies with privacy rights and safeguards confidential and/or sensitive information pertaining to staff and students.
  • Reacts to change productively and receive and transmit constructive criticism as it relates to job duties.
  • Actively participate in professional development and obtain skills and information necessary to effectively perform job duties.
  • Conduct all official business in a professional and timely manner, utilizing district technology resources.
  • Arrive to work and leave work at the time specified by supervisors and attend all required meetings pertinent to the position.
  • Maintains accurate records and filing systems for accountability and audit purposes as required by law and Board policy.
  • Solve practical problems utilizing math functions as needed to complete job duties.
  • Read and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, and handbooks and apply to job duties.
Essential Functions
  • Implements the Title I building plan, Building School Improvement Plan, and District Strategic Plan
  • Assists in the development of a collaborative climate between the school and families
  • Communicates regularly with parents on behalf of the school regarding attendance and other educational concerns for the purpose of ensuring an ongoing partnership between home and school
  • Develops and implements effective family involvement strategies, activities, meetings, and workshops to empower students and their families to improve student achievement
  • Helps families understand standards and assessment, student achievement scores, benchmark results, school expectations, and developmentally appropriate behavior
  • Partners with parents/guardians to develop student success plans and other goal setting plans
  • Conducts home visits when necessary
  • Assists families with enrollment and transfers
  • Communicates regularly with the principal about parents’ and families’ ideas and concerns
  • Attends community meetings
  • Interacts positively with students
  • Conducts general supervision of students during the school day including but not limited to arrival, lunch, recess, and dismissal
  • Conducts supervision of student activities and events after the school day when necessary
  • Plans and conducts Problem Solving Team meetings
  • Plans and conducts BIST Vision Team Meetings
  • Plans and conducts monthly BIST data team meetings
  • Plans and conducts student social group/behavior interventions
  • Develops and manages student success plans including behavior, attendance, and other relevant areas
  • Collaborates with teachers to develop and implement student success plans
  • Supervises students and intervenes in occurrences of inappropriate behavior and manages processes related to student discipline
  • Participates in bullying investigations
  • Maintains attendance, discipline, seclusion, restraint, bullying, and other records per district policy
  • Plans and conducts ongoing, job-embedded professional development for school staff related to behavior, attendance, parent engagement, or other relevant topics
  • Models effective verbal, nonverbal and media communication techniques with students, colleagues and families to foster active inquiry, collaboration and supportive interaction in the school
  • Participates in regular, meaningful data conversations through learning communities
  • Treats others with respect and civility, values diversity, and resolves conflicts professionally
  • Actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally, individually and collectively, in order to improve learning for all students
  • Participates in building, grade level and subject area committees
  • Completes and submits forms and required reports in a timely manner
  • Reports suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination and harassments as directed by Board policy and applicable law
  • Carries out all other duties as assigned
