Jolt is a non-profit organization founded in 2016 to increase the civic participation of Latinos in Texas to build a stronger democracy and ensure that everyones voice is heard. Jolt knows that our democracy works best when everyone gets a seat at the table. Thats why Jolt builds the leadership capacity of Latinos to mobilize their peers to action. Jolt lifts up the voices of young Latinos in Texas to tell their own stories through creative arts and acts, development institutes, and student leadership.

Jolt believes that Texas is poised for change, with a growing and disaffected Latino population. Today, 1 in 3 eligible voters in Texas is Latino and projections indicate that by 2030, Latinos will make up the majority of the states population. But demographics alone arent destiny. Winning change requires building a homegrown movement and a smart, focused, long-term strategy that can deliver equality and power to those who are most excluded and often first impacted.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Jolt believes that registering to vote is the first step in engaging with our democracy. To that end, we seek passionate individuals to work on a special project to register 30,000 young Latinos in Texas. Jolt seeks dynamic, outgoing, and hard-working individuals ready to create change in Texas during a 30 week project and requires an expedited ramp to make this project successful.

The Quality Control Coordinator will oversee quality review of the voter registration programming. The primary responsibilities include reviewing voter registration form processing, reviewing daily data entries and uploads, and maintaining data integrity for the voter registration program in their assigned region. The Quality Control Coordinator will report to the Regional Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Collect pledge cards at assigned Jolt office and ensure all data is entered timely and accurately
• Meet daily data entry goals - Data entry is submitted daily into a designated database while maintaining the highest standards of integrity.
• Review flagged forms from Regional Managers review for accuracy and maintain accurate records of delivery and uploads
• Upload and review voter registration forms in our quality control software daily
• Schedule and attend weekly check-ins with the Regional Manager and provide feedback and support when issues occur
• Provide ongoing feedback to Regional Manager to provide to Deputy Field Organizers and Regional Organizers
• With the direction of third party quality assurance and program leadership provide training on best practices
• Represent the organization effectively to the public
• Travel to local elections office within Bexar/Dallas/Harris Counties to submit voter registration cards timely
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in data collection and quality control is required
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience in registering voters in Texas is preferred
• Must be a highly motivated self starter who is able to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills, deadline driven, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work irregular hours and on weekends
• Eligible to become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar in the state of Texas, the ideal candidate is already deputized
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
• Access to a smartphone and laptop or iPad (or similar)
• Must be able to work 40 hours per week

LOCATION AND LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT

The Quality Control Coordinator is located in Dallas, TX and reports to the Regional Managers assigned in the designated city.
