We are currently seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our Operations team at JISF! The Full Charge Bookkeeper is an important member of the Accounting Department and handles all day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions for the organization.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following: 

• Manage the full AP cycle from receipt of invoices to payment, including coding invoices based on cost center, matching purchase orders, obtaining approval if needed and entering invoices in QuickBooks.
• Prepare and process all business and equipment license renewals annually ensuring compliance
• Prepare data and reports for CFO & Staff Accountant as directed
• Process and sort all incoming mail
• Perform Daily Close and making financial deposits 
• Process employee expense receipts, including verification and coding 
• Run reports to fund employee HSA & FSA Accounts 
• Process Account Reconciliations
• Assist with monthly financial statement preparation – month end, year end
• Ensure accuracy in the General Ledger 
• Assist with and be support for processing of employee timesheets and biweekly Payroll 
• Assist with new hire onboarding including requesting Drug & Background Screening
• Data Entry and additional duties as required

Schedule: Full Time - Monday through Friday 

Compensation: Starting at $24.04/hour (final pay to commensurate with experience)

Requirements

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

Associates degree in Business or Accounting not required but a definite plus

Minimum 1 year experience in AP or Bookkeeping preferred. 

Preferred Skills

QuickBooks and HRIS platform knowledge a plus. 

Strong mathematical and data entry skills required.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and follow through required. 

Comfortability with meeting time sensitive or tight deadlines

Strong computer skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook required.

Desire to be a team player and be coachable.

Physical Requirements

This position is sedentary, requires sitting for a majority of the shift

Requires long periods of working on a computer, with repetitive motions such as typing and use of a mouse. 

Requires occasional bending, reaching, lifting, walking, and squatting.
