Job Title: CMM Operator/ Quality Control Inspector - Multiple Shift Availability

Department: Quality
Reports To: Quality Control Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Salary: $23.00 based on experience. Generous shift differentials offered.

Summary: Perform layout inspection of parts, assemblies, and inspection fixtures and gauges using a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) or other appropriate measuring devices. Mechanical inspection experience and mechanical blueprint reading including G, D &T, and CMM required.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

1. Perform inspection on manufactured parts to ensure the hole locations, contour measurements, and shapes conform within prescribed tolerances to print specifications using coordinate measuring machine. Adhere to customer layout standards and methodologies.

2. Document the results of the inspections and testing accurately.

3. Create and edit dimensional inspection programs for the CMM

4. Create program set-up and execution documentation.

5. Evaluate any problems and report to the QC Supervisor and/or Engineering Manager.

6. Investigate instances of mismeasurement to identify, research, analyze, and report measurement problems.

7. Complies with all aspects of the company's quality management system through the performance of all duties and responsibilities

8. Certify product has been inspected.

9. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area.

10. Maintain count and traceability of product

11. Ability to interact and assist Manufacturing and Engineering personnel in regards to part conformance and process capability.

12. Assist in training other employees in CMM operation.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence or effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability: Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, math data, reports, instructions and guidelines. Knowledge of shop math required. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Proficient in Geometric Tolerance,(GD&T) MSA and SPC (training can be provided)

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be familiar with word processing software, spreadsheet software, and manufacturing software.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CMM Operator-1 Year of experience

Equipment:
Proficient is using measuring equipment: Caliper, Micrometer, Microscope, Height gauges, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

  • Good written English skills
  • Good verbal English communication skills
  • Working knowledge of measurement instruments
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, the risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
