The Master Production Scheduler is responsible for creating a constrained master production schedule (cMPS) at the aggregate volume level and at the detail mix level. The cMPS becomes the supply plan from the operations site that supports customer demand. This individual is also responsible for coordinating the frozen period horizon for all possible production requirements (scheduling, rescheduling, rework, outsourced work-in-process inventory, etc.)
Duties & Responsibilities
Under limited supervision and general direction and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:
Responsible for running a monthly capacity master production schedule (MPS) from net requirements and ensuring raw material availability
Performs site capacity planning in terms of resources, shifts, equipment, and shutdowns
Reviews MPS, resolves issues, and optimizes site MPS, running scenarios as needed
Communicates and hands over a feasible, constrained MPS to detailed schedulers and production planners
Resolves any manufacturing challenges for site, calling out impact and communicating changes
Maintain and assuring different reporting systems are accurate and reported on a timely manner (e.g. Monthly HBO projection submission, Supply metric submission, MPS)
Leads overall site RCCP reviews (detail run by relevant Planner and VSM)
Leads and identifies improvement opportunities to the Site cMPS process
Co-Leads the S&OP process providing input and clearly outlining risks and opportunities.
Global & Executive Supply Review: preparing monthly update for identified supply gaps
Applies business and financial skill to drive cross functional decisions
Demonstrates strong decision-making ability in a multiple scenario environment
Applies understanding of cycle time, throughout, labor efficiency, and related concepts to drive alignment with overall Production Plan
Work as a 'link person' or middle person amongst customers, colleagues, and vendors
Participates in S&OP forums as applicable
Responsible for site planning parameters and system master dating
Ensures participation in new product launch meetings and forecasts
Inventory Management:
Finish Goods pull forward: managing process and submission
Finish Goods projection post LE
Project team member for LT reduction initiatives (WIP)
Support the evaluation of current processes and the transition to improved future processes in conjunction with the wider global PP&L team.
Ensure compliance with current regulatory standards and guidelines (Quality, EHS, Financial)
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's and/or equivalent University Degree required; Advanced MBA degree or equivalent preferred.
Experience & Skills
Required:
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional work experience
  • Experience in Supply Chain
Proficient user of MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Preferred:
Experience with ERP (SAP/APO/SNP) & Advanced Planning Systems (APS/APO,OMP)
Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Certifications desirable Supply Chain Certifications (APICS/ IBF)
Advanced data reporting and analytical skills.
Familiarity with relevant legislation - e.g. FDA/BSi Class III Medical Device Requirements, GMP, and ISO requirements
Demonstrated strong leadership abilities, working cross functionally
Must possess good reasoning and problem-solving abilities
Work as a 'link person' or middle person amongst customers, colleagues, and vendors
Driving continuous process improvements.
Ability to communicate clearly, making the sophisticated clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms
The ability to influence Director & VP Levels within the organization
Solid understanding of financial processes
Strong organization skills in production planning, outstanding attention to detail
Other:
May require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel to other locations and sites
