Description

SUMMARY:

Responsible for handling the requests and transactions of the hotel guests, and coordinating with the other departments as necessary while providing outstanding guest service. Run required reports during the night shift.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Verify each front desk shift's transactions
2. Process credit card transactions
3. Post room and tax charges to all guest folios
4. Finalize transactions completed during the day
5. Create and/or print required reports
6. File or transmit reports, as directed
7. Prepare folios for departing guests
8. Handle hotel phone system, transfer calls, and take messages for guests as well as hotel staff
9. Take, modify and cancel guest reservations, noting any special requests
10. Assist in the verification, balancing and revenue maximization of hotel's room availability
11. Verify, balance and review guestroom availability
12. Check in/out guests. Verify departure dates and offer to make future reservations
13. Communicate property facilities and services to guest at check-in
14. Answer guest questions regarding local area facilities
15. Post phone-charges, valet charges and other miscellaneous charges to guest accounts
16. Administer guest payment policies
17. Responsible for shift cash transactions
18. Responsible for following hotel’s cash handling procedures
19. Responsible for maintaining hotel key security system
20. Responsible for the proper administration of key control for issued keys
21. Responsible for the proper administration of keys left by guests
22. Administer guest safe deposit boxes
23. Use the L.E.A.R.N Model for all guest recovery incidents that occur
24. Always have a friendly and welcoming demeanor when interacting with our guests 
25. Fill out maintenance work orders and deliver to supervisor/manager or designated area in a timely manner
26. Responsible for knowing all hotel emergency procedures
27. Follow all hotel safety guidelines and requirements
28. Responsible for following all hotel quality assurance standards for department
29. Bring all lost and found items to the supervisor’s or manager’s office for logging and storage
30. Accommodate guest special requests courteously
31. Answer guest questions regarding hotel and local area facilities and services
32. Work alone as the sole employee and manager on duty at the hotel during the graveyard shift
33. Update guestroom status and inform Housekeeping as dirty suites become available. Update guestroom status when notified by Housekeeping
34. Read and communicate clearly
35. Distribute mail and other correspondence to guests and hotel staff
36. Coordinate with other departments to fulfill guest special requests
37. Notify housekeeping and maintenance of any reported problems with guestrooms, public areas, back of house areas, or grounds
38. Track status of guestrooms used for tours and status of guestrooms in maintenance
39. Assist in the set up of the breakfast buffet as directed
40. Carry out any reasonable request by management that I am capable of performing
