Aging and Human Services is hiring a Senior Nutrition Data Technician (Customer Service II) to assist the CHAMPSS program. First review of applications will be February 7, 2024.

Job Description

  • Provides general office duties for the nutrition program and administrative support for the CHAMPSS Program; data enter meal orders and donations for the CHAMPSS Program; prints monthly store Merchant Detail Report and invoices; provides data on CHAMPSS utilization and provides analysis; monitors the on-going performance of CHAMPSS sites and assists stores with data entry issues; accurately enters assessments into AAA database.
  • Works with CHAMPS providers to continue a healthy partnership; completes CHAMPSS check-in and walk-through audits quarterly to check program requirements are met and the program's quality.
  • Provides back-up for the Nutrition office team including centers, front desk, and mail process; creates and distributes reports and analyzes data to determine problems or trends; initiates written or oral correspondence; schedules appointments, meetings, and other functions.
  • Holds, organizes, and leads CHAMPSS program material at scheduled presentations within the county.
  • Answers phones, refers calls and customers; greets customers and gives standard and non-standard information in response to phone, email, or in-person inquiries.
  • Creates and maintains files both public and confidential; distributes reports and performs data entry into systems; types form letters, labels, mail merges, and correspondence; proofreads information; schedules appointments, meetings, and other functions.
  • Assists customers with completing routine and non-routine forms; collects forms and any supporting documents; reviews for accuracy and completeness; obtains client information as well as signatures on required permission and consent forms; explains fees, policies, and payment options; researches account information; makes determination on coordination of services/resources, and organizes referrals to current staff or outside agencies.
  • Calculates and collects fees for payment; resolves a variety of non-routine customer complaints, problems, and billing disputes; may provide follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction. 

This position is grant-funded position. Employment in grant-funded positions is contingent upon approved and continued funding. 

Job Requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of customer service or related experience are required. May require KS/MO driver’s license, depending on department or agency.

Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.

Education/Experience Substitutions:

Experience may be substituted for degree. Education may be substituted for experience.

Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:

All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
