Preferred qualifications / behaviors of candidates for Mechanical Technician positions :

• AAS in Fire Protection Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology (or similar field)
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Enjoys a hands-on work environment
• Not concerned about getting dirty
• Remains focused on the safety of themselves and others
• Good communications skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Works well both independently as well as in a team environment
• Ability to interpret / follow test plans and approval agency standards (e.g. UL / FM)
• Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office products
• Good math skills
• Self-starter, results oriented
