This position is funded by non-university funds. The continuation of this position is contingent upon the availability of funding.
Under the supervision of the Director of the Center for Student Success and Academic Excellence, the Professional Tutor assists undergraduate students in developing and improving their competency in coursework, and helps students integrate and apply academic success skills to their specific courses. The Tutor works with students in various programs through a variety of innovative tutoring models that foster self-advocacy, cultivate academic independence, and facilitate student connections to resources and enhanced engagement with course content. This is a grant-funded position.
Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) required. Requires three years of relevant experience tutoring college level foundational mathematics, advanced mathematics, and statistics courses. Ability to read and comprehend mathematical problems and concepts. Ability to assess and communicate mathematical knowledge effectively to students. Experience with EAB Navigate highly preferred. Must be able to demonstrate mastery of specific course content either through transcript evaluation and/or professional certifications. Must be willing and able to work evenings as required.
Note: The work is performed in person and on campus. This job is not eligible for remote work.
