Description Are you passionate about leading and motivating a team of system administrators to improve their processes for maintaining and managing systems in multiple secure environments? We are seeking a section supervisor to supervise and lead a team of system administrators, work with Program and Project Managers, engineers and security support teams to meet operational requirements in multiple secure facilities. As a section supervisor you will support current and future work and define and propose the analytical and physical infrastructure necessary to carry out that work in secure facilities. This may include suggesting new enhancements to facilities, computing resources, tools, laboratories, work spaces, etc. Assist the group supervisor in the interviewing and hiring processes. You will assist with, and implement, staff development initiatives, including staff mentoring, onboarding, and working with staff to understand their career objectives. As AP4-002 Section Supervisor you will: * Support, motivate and ensure the system administrative team is proficient in their tasks.
* Ensure the professional and technical development of staff.
* Assist with the annual capital and task planning processes. * Meet with leadership teams and program management for planning priority tasking. * Provide hands on systems support within the secure facilities.
* Meet information assurance and security teams to review and implement security guidelines as defined by the sponsor and RMF. * Actively engage and partner with section staff to assess their strengths and their limitations. * Lead the tracking of IT equipment within the secure facilities.
* Functionally report to the Facility Operations Manager and the AP4 Assistant Group Supervisor will be your direct Supervisor. Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you... * A BS in Computer Science and 5 years of relevant IT professional experience or 10 years IT equivalent professional experience without degree.
* Demonstrated experience mentoring and leading a team.
* Significant experience deploying, building, designing, optimizing, and operating the technologies associated with Windows and/or Linux/Unix based servers and workstations.
* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex problems in computer networks, computer hardware, and computer operating system configuration and operation.
* Demonstrated ability and desire to work well with a wide variety of end-users with differing needs and experience. Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
* Demonstrated effective communications skills.
* A current DoD 8570 certification or ability to obtain certification within 3 months of offer. * The ability to lift at least 40 lbs.

Youll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you... * An MS and 5 years of experience in IT.
* Certification in Windows Workstations and/or Servers, * Certification in Red Hat Linux
* Knowledge of highly classified computer facility operational procedures.
* Experience with data center operations including infrastructure, systems monitoring, and computer clusters.
* Formal supervisory experience, especially as a JHU/APL Supervisor.
* Demonstrated ability to operate in a sometimes high-pressure environment.
* Demonstrated ability to resist security directives unless they are backed up by formal documentation and approved by program management.
* Demonstrated ability to solve interpersonal challenges.
* Proven ability and interest in documenting systems and operational procedures.
* A current TS/SCI or TS with additional accesses.
