Surgical Technologist / Technician II
Fulltime- Evening
40 hours
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, performs duties in the operating room to assist the surgical team in surgical services, such as scrubbing on all types of operative procedures, obtaining and preparing instruments and equipment, and maintaining a clean and safe surgical environment. Performs any one or more of the measures specific to the Surgical Technologist II job description, for a specified period of time, as assigned by the Nurse Manager or designee.
Education: Successful completion of high school or equivalent education, coupled with either formal surgical technology training or the fulfillment of hospital-based training requirements. (Military Surgical Technologist experience may be considered in place of a formal training program).
Required licensure, certification :
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification provided by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network. Must Maintain 6 continuing education per year.
CST (Certified Surgical Technology) certification is required, or candidates must have five years or more of experience as a Surgical Tech.
Two years of surgical technician experience along with Surgical tech certification (CST) required.
