The Senior External Operations Supervisor reports to the Director of External Security and is responsible for the effective and efficient management of the external security effort.
Minimum qualifications: (1) HS Diploma or equivalent. (2) Requires a professional level of knowledge in security functions as would normally be acquired by significant experience in a law enforcement agency, preferably with completion of an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field. (3) Requires certification of completion from a law enforcement academy (4) Minimum of ten years of law enforcement/security related experience in a supervisory capacity with a strong background in conducting criminal investigations and court testimony experience. (5) Ability to meet the requirements to obtain a Special Police Commission. (6) Maryland State Police handgun permit. (7) Maryland Driver License and satisfactory driving record required. (8) Requires extensive knowledge of law enforcement, supervision and investigative techniques to be able to successfully manage a security operation incorporating an off-duty police secondary employment program, security officers, and first line supervision. Must have knowledge of court proceedings at the Circuit Court and District Court levels. Must be familiar with State of Maryland Unemployment Hearing appearances. This is normally acquired with ten years of law enforcement experience in a supervisory position. (9) Substantial interpersonal skills necessary to manage work activity, provide direction and supervision to staff, and represent the department at meetings. Analytical ability to assist in the development of objectives, prepare and review reports, and to manage personnel in an effective manner.
Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week.
Shifts: Day, 8AM-4PM. Weekend work required.
Location: Corporate Security, Baltimore, MD.
