Zayed 12 West is a 32-bed adult inpatient unit composed of a 14 acute care neuro medical/surgical beds, 12 bed intermediate care brain rescue unit (BRU), and 6 intermediate care beds. The unit includes a Joint Commission-Advanced Certification in its Comprehensive Stroke Center which cares for acute stroke (hemorrhagic and ischemic), transient ischemic attacks, vasculitis, carotid and vertebral dissection, and subarachnoid hemorrhage. You may care for a spectrum of patients with seizures or any disease that would affect the brain or spinal column.

Shifts: 12 Hour Day shifts

Qualifications:

· AA or BSN must be from an accredited nursing program.

· Applicants with an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered; provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire.

· Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required

· BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted

· Acute care hospital RN work experience preferred

· Ability to role model and support practices consistent with evidenced based care, guide others with plan of care, independently make clinical decisions in complex situations, and proactively assist others with patient assignment.
