Who you are :

A Certified Professional Coder specializing in all things Risk Adjustment coding. You have an expert understanding of coding regulations related to ICD-10 coding and HCCs.

You are the Johns Hopkins Health Plans (JHHP) expert on coding questions and take pride in coding outpatient records proficiently and accurately

What you’ll do :

  • You are responsible for reviewing a member’s medical records and assigning the appropriate diagnoses codes
  • You are responsible for complying with CMS guidance, official coding guidelines, and organizational policies and procedures
  • You are the functional expert on coding questions
  • Your coding measure of success will have a quality accuracy of 95%

What you’ll bring :

  • AAPC and / or AHIMA Certification is required (i.e. CPC, CCS, etc.)
  • 3 years' ICD-10 coding experience with demonstrated analytical skills. Experience with Medicare (Risk Adjustment) regulationsEPIC experience is highly preferred
  • Requires a comprehensive and expert understanding of coding regulations related to ICD-10 coding. Capable of advance problem solving in coding.
  • Must be familiar with reimbursement methodologies hierarchical condition category (HCC) and guidelines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and compliance of HIPAA rules and regulations in the dissemination of patient Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clinic staff, providers, bill staff, management and administration
  • High School Diploma or GED
