The Release of Information (ROI) Specialist II, under the leadership of the ROI Supervisor, is responsible for performing ROI functions across all hospitals in the health system. This includes interpreting all types of requests for copies of medical records, ensuring proper authorization and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the privacy and security of protected health information.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associates Degree in Health Information Management or healthcare-related field, or four years of work experience in HIM with a preference of two of those years in ROI.
For internal applicants, Associate’s Degree or two years of ROI experience and has exceeded the JHHS quality and productivity expectations for the previous six months.
Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:
RHIT preferred.
Work Experience:
One year of experience in a Health Information Management Department required.
