CAMPUS POLICE SERGEANT

This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position that reports to the Chief of Campus Police and is located on the JWCC campus in Quincy, Illinois. Position begins February 1, 2024.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for providing leadership and supervision for Campus Police Officers, assisting the chief in establishing departmental goals and objectives and providing services to the campus community. This position will serve as Field Training Officer for probationary officers, maintain training records, review and approve officer's incident reports, and be responsible for officer's work schedule. This position will conduct annual performance evaluations, assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures, be a liaison with others for criminal cases, and coordinate regarding special events for Campus Police services.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires experience in law enforcement, security, corrections, military or other related experience. Must be State of Illinois certified police officer or have the ability to become certified by successfully completing an ILETSB recognized police academy training program, Illinois Law for Police course, and/or Illinois Firearms Training course. Must successfully pass criminal background investigation and have no felony convictions.
