INVENTORY ASSOCIATE
Sheet Metal Contractor seeking to hire an experienced Inventory Associate for a full time position. Candidate will be responsible to act in accordance with the policies set forth in the current employee handbook. Candidate will receive, store, and distribute material, tools, equipment, and products from the tool crib and company storeroom, and other designated areas. Candidate must be motivated, reliable and ready to work independently and responsibly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Issue tools, consumables, equipment or parts to workers and maintain records of issued and returned.
  • Locate lost or misplaced tools, equipment, and parts.
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools, equipment or parts, and requisition stock to replenish inventory.
  • Input all required data into business operations software, purchasing, and receiving process requirements.
  • Inspect tools, equipment or parts for defects and wear and report damage or wear to supervisors.
  • Mark and identify tools, equipment, and parts using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking tool.
  • Keep all parts clean and orderly in the proper locations.
  • Perform clerical activities as directed by manager.
  • Maintain records of tools issued to employees.
  • Take periodic inventory and requisition stock as required to meet SOP requirements.
  • Participate actively in team meetings.
  • Deliver tools or equipment to workers either manually or using hand truck.
  • Make simple repairs, service, and lubricate small tools as required.
  • Inspect lifting devices and send for repair or replace as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, tool crib, and storeroom.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds frequently, lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
