Position Summary

We are currently seeking an Produce QA/QC Coordinator to join our Food Safety team as a crucial link in the food supply chain.

The Produce QA/QC Coordinator will enhance the quality assurance, quality control and inventory processes at JVI. The Produce QA/QC Coordinator must be a self-directed and engaged individual as they will cover a wide area and variety of tasks throughout the warehouse. They will work closely with buyers, sales, inventory, logistics, and the packing house teams to provide support with product rotation, traceability, proper storage location and development of quality-related SOPs. In addition, this person will be responsible for regular reporting on the disposition of sub-standard products, particularly what is packed or co-packed under the JVI Brand.

The pay for this role will be $18/hour based on experience plus FREE (100% employer-paid) medical and dental insurance. The schedule for this role is as follows: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Collaborates with buyers, sales, inventory, logistics, and packing house teams to achieve goals.
2. Monitor JVI Coolers, Product Storage and Display Areas for items that are not in acceptable packaging. Repair, repackage, refresh broken or orphaned package and record quantity changes and product condition in company computer system.
3. In cooperation with the Food Safety and QA Manager, develop and edit SOPs for all QC procedures.
4. Perform inspections of finished goods in compliance with food safety protocols and file required food safety reports for orders shipped from the JVI Packing House.
5. Perform spot inspections on finished goods before these orders are shipped.
6. Produce a daily inventory of all Splits and Finished Goods packed for JVI wholesale sales.
7. Develop and implement best practices for storage solutions of Splits to enhance order picking and to maintain lot number traceability.
8. Perform Quality Monitoring and Control of “bulk” product or “raw goods” to be used in the Packing House to comply with Food Safety protocols.
9. Create a daily report to document repacked products or any product that needs to be lotted into the system.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned or as necessary. Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational need.
11. Represents John Vena, Inc. in a manner that conveys professionalism, confidentiality, courtesy, fairness, personal integrity, and respect for others.

ABOUT YOU

• High School Diploma, or equivalent, required. Associate degree or higher, preferred.
• One to three (1-3) years fresh produce experience preferred.
• One year of experience in a warehouse and with warehouse equipment required.
• One year of experience working with Inventory or Inventory Management
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Strong basic math skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in computer use (Windows, Excel, Word) preferred.
• Ability to learn proprietary computer systems and applications.
