The John F. Kennedy Elementary School is looking for a dynamic educator who values equity, social-emotional learning and provides access to learning experiences for all students. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated success in building and sustaining strong relationships with students and families and value on-going collaboration with colleagues. Experience with implementing units of study and/or with readers, writers, and math workshop is preferred, and a solid understanding of grade level standards is required. Please note that this is a one-year position.

Qualified candidates will:

• Create lesson plans, aligned with current state and district standards, which drive instruction through formative assessment and differentiation
• Provide consistent, immediate feedback on student learning and ask analytical questions that elicit students' responses that incorporate prior knowledge, life experience and interests that are directly related to the content objective
• Collaborate with colleagues and administration in analyzing data in order to positively impact student learning
• Engage in reflective practice in concert with your supervisor and content specialists aligned to the instructional focus of the school
• Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues and administrators
• Possess a growth mindset
• Possess effective communication skills

Additional Requirements:

• MA Certification required (preference for dual certification in General Education and Special Education with SEI Endorsement)
• Prior grade level experience preferred
• Familiarity with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and State Standards 
• Familiarity with Workshop Model
