JOH, a regional sales and marketing company (food broker), headquartered in Billerica, MA has an immediate opening for a Promotion Analyst.
As a Promotional Analyst, you are responsible for entering all promotional activity into web-based systems used by the client – this information should be provided to you by Account Executives & Account Managers – in addition to entering & maintaining tracking systems, you will need to be the key contact for the deductions analyst supporting the client. In order to enter promotional activity accurately you will need to have knowledge of the product, & customer while having access to & understanding of IRI/Nielsen data.
Responsibilities:
· Work closely with AE, sales, category management, and marketing teams in the creation and administration of promotional calendars/planners.
· Develop promotional programs customized to specific retailers/wholesalers
· Maintain all promotional calendars & update regularly with changes
· Develop and maintain a solid working relationship with all associates at JOH as well as outside support.
· Respond in an urgent manner to the client’s needs.
· Responsible for having knowledge of all aspects and details of the client’s business.
· Manage the client’s promotional funds and track expenditures to insure desired results are achieved.
· Review P&L by customer to ensure performance is meeting client objectives
· Work with Category Management to provide client with summary of results achieved on each promotion with and interim reports on status of items presented.
· Assist in supplying all headquarters sales teams with pertinent information.
· Track & provide information on distribution & pricing by customer
· Assist in properly preparing for and conducting formal business reviews as required by the client and JOH.
· Assist in communicating to JOH management all pertinent information regarding the client’s business.
· Participate in functions and events as directed by JOH and client which may include but not limited to Trade Shows, Broker Advisory Committee, Conventions, Dinners, Trade Events and Sales Meetings.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES REQUIRED
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence and memos
· Ability to write detailed correspondence
· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as client instruction manuals, and JOH company procedure manuals
Mathematical Skills
· Must have knowledge of basic mathematical concepts
· Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages
· Ability to use calculator to perform simple functions
Reasoning Ability
· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
· Ability to review and interpret syndicated data (i.e. IRI, Nielsen, Proof Space)
Technical Skills
· A solid understanding of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The ability to access and utilize internal databases and in-house category analysis software.
· Ability to utilize external web-based programs (MEI)
· Ability to understand & correct all customer contracts
PERFORMANCE AND/OR EDUCATION PREREQUISITES
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred
· Experience with deductions
· Experience with IRI & Nielsen syndicated data
· Experience in financial statements
· Experience in the brokerage industry
