  • Creates and executes strategic sales plans to identify, attract and retain appropriate business to the hotel
  • Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue goals through telephone prospecting, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication
  • Attend community events to share about the hotel and company
  • Prepare sales proposals for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate based on individual clients and accounts
  • Skillfully respond to incoming leads and maximize conversion from all lead sources
  • Analyze and manage business opportunities to achieve the highest profit margins for department and hotel
  • Knowledge of local market trends, competition and key accounts of the hotel
  • Creatively sells available hotel space to maximize revenue
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts within approved St Joe company guidelines
  • Ensure proper usage and that all required information is entered into sales software including all significant client communication
  • Establishes on-sight customer contact as needed and introduces customer to the service staff
  • Follows-up with clients after each function to ensure satisfaction and solicit for additional business
  • Conducts oneself at all times in a professional business manner, acts as a professional representative of the hotel and an enthusiastic member of the sales team
  • Volunteers and assists other sales members as needed in the achievement of their goals to ensure departmental and hotel goals are met
  • Executes and drafts sales action plans. Prepare correspondence and client follow up with Thank You/Group Survey
  • Prepare promotional and marketing materials, prepare Group Resume Packets and distribute to front desk
  • Order Food & Beverage for meeting and manage details the day of meeting/event
  • Qualify Business, maintains and follows up with new leads
  • Tours for potential customers
  • Be informed about daily operations pertaining to sales
  • Assist in special projects as requested by the General Manager

Experience and Skills

  • 2-4 years’ minimum experience as a Hotel Sales Coordinator or Sales Manager
  • Experience working with major brands like Marriot, Hilton, or IHG (highly desired)
  • Delphi Experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • The ability to make revenue management decisions to effectively grow market share
  • The skills and experience to assist a team to consistently deliver exceptional guest service and effectively grow revenues; Total commitment to guest satisfaction
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, ability to work well with others and portray good people skills
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work additional hours as needed
  • Have a great eye for detail, be flexible and have what it takes to get the job done
