Automotive Helper - Forney, TX

$55K - $75K Production Bonus

Responsible for completing high-quality paint repairs assigned in the shortest time possible while ensuring exceptional service to our customers.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform duties associated with painting to include mixing and matching paint, preparing and testing panels, and monitoring of painting operations.
• Ensure quality paint repairs through prepping, blending formulas, top coat application, and curing.
• Identify cause and correct any deficiencies that may occur during the painting process including blistering and streaking.
• Meet our OE and I-CAR standards.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. air sprayers, sanders, etc.)
• Follow protocols provided for repairs.
• Prep vehicles for painting as necessary.
• Strong, consistent attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate.
• Positive, can-do attitude with the desire to work in a team setting.
• Comply with all JHCC safety rules, guidelines, and standards.
• Must be able to perform all physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of performing high-quality paint repairs using up-to-date methods.
• Ability to use all power tools required to perform position.
• Must be able to understand verbal and/or written instructions related to repairs, ask follow-up questions and communicate clearly any obstacles with meeting deadlines and/or standards.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Prior auto body painting experience required.
• Experience with extensive paint repairs.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Work performed in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
• May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, and dust.
• Noise levels may be high consistently due to the use of mechanical tools.
• Reliable attendance required.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and/or squat to perform tasks
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull at least 10 pounds
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 100 pounds
• Ability to twist and turn
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform overhead work
• Ability to perform tasks while laying on back
• Ability to accurately identify all vehicle parts and painting needs
• Ability to perform or learn to disassemble, replace parts, etc.
• Availability and ability to attend or complete training classes or webinars on all tools, equipment, and methods
• Examples would include specific courses to become certified: I-Car, A/C, OEM, etc.
• Ability to properly maintain and wear all safety equipment required by JHCC and OSHA standards (e.g., eye protection, ear protection, gloves, respirator, etc.)
• Ability to take direction and perform tasks in an efficient and orderly manner
• Ability to maintain organization and cleanliness of work area, free of safety hazards
• Ability to maintain all equipment provided to perform collision repairs
