As a Flight Control Systems Intern at Joby, you will be responsible for maintaining ground station monitoring tools for the flight controls team, assisting with post-flight telemetry review, developing data analysis scripts, and operating flight simulators for feature testing and data collection. You will be exposed to the inner-workings of the flight controller, perform code testing on various platforms, update documentation and write procedures based on your understanding of new controls features. You will be tasked with a multi-week project involving conceptual design and prototype implementation of a flight algorithm with the goal of deploying it in the flight controller.
● Enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospaceengineering, computer science, or similar programs● Courses in digital signal processing and real-time operating systems,● Courses in classical controls, modern state-space controls, and advanced dynamics● Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and Python● Passionate about flying machines
The pay range for undergraduate interns, which includes freshman to senior level students, is $20-32/hr. The pay range for graduate interns with a Bachelor, Master, and/or Ph.D. degree is $5,400-$7,500/month.
