About the role
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process including category management, sourcing, negotiation, contracting and supplier performance management primarily for Marketing services. This position is responsible for the development of global/regional category strategies that are aligned with local strategies, as well as ensuring that key cost reduction initiatives are delivered to meet savings targets, while managing risk and performance.
This role is accountable for leading business activities related to category management. This will include dispute resolution, preparation of negotiation strategies, and negotiation across multiple agreements.
Strong business partner relationships are critical to the success of this role, and this individual is expected to work collaboratively with executives and stakeholders across the FIS portfolio.
About the team
The Supply Chain Manager may, if needed, lead a team of 5 category, sourcing, procurement and/ supply management professionals to ensure optimal spend management solutions and a stable, efficient supply chain across the U.S., Europe, and/or India. This leader may be expected to attract, develop, and lead a team across all aspects of the procurement lifecycle.
What you will be doing
The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Analyze key supply markets and establish relationships with leading partners,
Lead and develop team of procurement professionals in analyzing, sourcing, negotiation, contract development, and the award of contracts across spend categories,
Manage negotiations with third parties and ensure benefit for FIS,
Interface and build strategic relationships with key stakeholders locally, including business leaders, Finance leads and Legal,
Proactively identify and mitigate category risks; partner with internal risk teams to ensure all deals are compliant with relevant requirements,
Identify and drive team direction, prioritizing workload and project assignments for team,
Gain a thorough understanding of stakeholder’s business strategy, and requirements, to develop category and supplier approach,
Periodically plan and execute expense category reviews,
Build and maintain awareness of external marketplace and industry trends related to category and third parties,
Deliver a superior customer experience to internal and external clients worldwide,
This leader will be a “player coach” with demonstrated ability to deliver through others or as an individual contributor.
What you will need
Bachelor’s degree required, graduate degree preferred; business, economics, finance, supply chain, or related studies preferred,
3-5 years of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and management, supplier performance and relationship management, and category management or relevant experience with experience in accountable category areas,
Demonstrated success developing and leading high performing teams that deliver quantifiable results, including cost reductions,
Understanding of key contracting concepts and legal terms,
Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial modeling, and business case development, evaluation, and presentation,
Good commercial negotiation skills,
Strong third-party negotiation strategy formulation and execution,
Supplier / third-party management and development,
Strong organizational and project management skills,
Process driven with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred licensures / Certifications
Certified Purchasing Manager, Certified Professional in Supply Management, or similar distinction preferred; Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt equivalent or greater preferred.
