Derivatives Operations Supervisor

This is a contract position.

This is an in-office position.

About this position

You will play a pivotal role in managing high-risk corporate action events, ensuring precise booking of swap trades, and accurately capturing hedge positions. Supervising two critical functions (HIFs) - Volcker and Client Money, you will uphold stringent deadlines and compliance standards, ensuring all operations are executed flawlessly.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to two High Impact Functions (HIFs), namely Volcker and Client Money, ensuring adherence to operational procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and implement both strategic and tactical process improvements within the team to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Lead process improvement initiatives, overseeing project lifecycles from inception to completion.
• Oversee the allocation process for Swap products on a T0 and T 1 basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage the Corporate Action process for equity swap products and their related hedges, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Address and promptly resolve trade and settlement fails, minimizing operational risk and financial exposure.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, proactively addressing any compliance issues that arise.
• Validate trade input by the desk, escalating any discrepancies or issues appropriately for resolution.
• Participate in performing due diligence for new products, liaising with Business Units and New Product groups as necessary.
• Oversee the trade review processes within the team's remit, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct operational risk reconciliation, identifying and mitigating control gaps to minimize operational risk exposure.
• Prepare and disseminate management reports on key operational metrics and issues, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Skills/Requirements

• 2 years of experience in equity swap trade support or a related function.
• Strong understanding of corporate actions, swap products, and hedge positions.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in project management and process improvement methodologies.
• Sound knowledge of legal and compliance issues related to financial products.
• Familiarity with operational risk management principles and practices.

Additional Information

• This is a 12-month contract with the opportunity to extend/convert.
• Role will start on-site and transition to a hybrid schedule.

Pay/Salary Range:

• Pay Range: $30 - $34/HR.
