Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Team Lead- Maintenance & Reliability Engineering through 2/19/2024 at 11:59 p.m. (CST).
The purpose of the Maintenance & Reliability (M&R) Engineering Team Lead is to be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the Reliability Engineering portion of the Geismar M&R Strategy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Key Accountabilities:
  • Lead the Geismar M&R Team. Facilitates and maintains Asset Strategy development through Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) training program ensuring appropriate personnel are trained regarding the process.
  • Ensure that Reliability Engineering resources are focused on the defining strategies to eliminate or substantially postpone the occurrence of equipment failures.
  • Ensure that Maintenance Engineering resources are focused on defining the best strategy for recovering equipment function after failures occur.
  • Sponsor and facilitate the use of Equipment Criticality Analysis (ECA) to ensure that development and continuous improvement of Asset Strategies are focused on the most critical assets.
  • Ensure application of RCM or other appropriate reliability principles to develop Asset Strategies for new or modified equipment or processes.
  • Responsible for the Mechanical Integrity (MI) program to ensure that all assets requiring MI have strategies that comply with American Petroleum Institute (API) Standards.
  • Lead the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) portion of RCM as needed when developing Asset Strategies and determines which systems should receive FMEA analysis; leads FMEA teams, and monitors progress and reports accordingly.
  • Deliver Asset Strategies resulting from RCM to operations and maintenance such as, Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), Operator Basic Care (OBC), and Run to Failure (RTF) or No Scheduled Maintenance (NSM).
  • Facilitate the introduction, development, implementation, and use of Predictive Maintenance (PdM) including predictive models and predictive analytics resulting from CBM.
  • Ensure that critical spare parts are identified and set up in the warehouse based on RCM activities.
  • Responsible for Bad Actor/Defect Elimination identification and analysis which includes formalized Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
  • Define the Bad Actor/Defect Elimination process, sets guidelines regarding when RCFA is to be conducted and trains appropriate personnel on the RCFA process.
  • Lead RCFAs as requested and monitors progress and quality of RCFAs led by others. Ensures documentation by the RCFA teams are assigned to appropriate personnel and actions are monitored to ensure actions are taken.
  • Advocate for a "Design for Reliability" and "Build for Reliability" strategy philosophy in the Capital program.
  • Assist in development of maintenance procedures when requested.
Other frequent duties:
  • Assist maintenance, engineering and operations management as needed
  • Assist operation as needed in filtration, tank farm and production units
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Experience using CMMS systems such as SAP, MAXIMO, JDE, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand process flow sheets, P&IDs, specifications, and drawings.
  • Knowledge of common production equipment such as centrifuges, reciprocating compressors, gearboxes, motors, electrical distribution systems, instrumentation systems and fixed equipment.
  • Knowledge of standard industrial safety procedures such as lock-out/tag-out, confined space entry, hot work permit, elevated work, blinding, isolations, purging, mobile equipment operation and permitting.
  • Advanced mathematical skill to calculate and interpret data using percentages, ratios, averages, and medians.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly experienced with MS office products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Visio.
  • Ability to work independently as well as lead/participate on teams.
  • Self-starter who effectively manages multiple tasks under time and cost pressure; assigns appropriate priorities to competing interests; and achieves results with minimal supervision.
  • Awareness of new technical developments and ability of applying new knowledge to the processes in place at CREG
  • Provide personal contact information on an as needed basis for official business purposes
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree - Engineering or related field.
  • 8 years of experience in a reliability or maintenance engineering role in a manufacturing or chemical processing plant.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Project Management Skills
  • Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers (oral and written) to provide technical expertise as required
  • Organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance theory and strategy, as well as reliability programs utilized in industrial processes
  • Record data, generate computer reports, and process written records on a timely basis.
  • General knowledge of codes, design standards, and safety regulations used in industry and chemical processing
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
