MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree
3-5 years’ experience insourcing, purchasing and supply chain management in an MRP-based manufacturing environment
Knowledge of current supply chain management and manufacturing processes and systems
Experience in strategic sourcing of purchased goods and services needed for manufacturing operations
Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and ERP environment.
Experience in supervising and directing all purchasing activities
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative and Business Skills:
Responsible for managing the negotiation of new and existing contracts for purchased goods and services including long-term agreements, consignment programs and outsourcing requirements
Responsible to lead strategic sourcing activities to procure required goods and services
Directs the daily activities of all buyers
Assists the supervisor with the establishment of annual goals/objectives, strategies, and tactics to drive managed results favorable to Wieland Designs
Rationalize the current supply base to maximize purchasing leverage
Responsible for the maintenance of ISO-related documentation relevant to the procurement function
Key liaison with Engineering for all new product development sourcing and purchasing requirements
Technical Skills:
Proactively predicts order swings to support material demand to execute schedules.
Proactively contacts suppliers to facilitate and assist in the resolution of production, design, quality, and/or delivery problems; determine status of orders.
Execute the effort of continually ordering and receiving all parts as order points are reached and safety stocks are used in coordination with the needs of the internal customers.
Monitor material inventories, track progress of production schedules, and review factors that affect inventory. Maintain inventory dollars without effecting on-time delivery.
Thorough understanding of Engineering processes and services.
Interpersonal Skills:
Assists other departments when it is required.
Demonstrate appropriate internal customer-supplier relation skills.
Develop and maintain effective, professional relationships with suppliers
Contribute to the maintenance and development of supplier relationships.
Coach, develop and direct staff consistent with company philosophies
Participate in EPF/ECN project update meetings as required.
