We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role will be responsible for a variety of financial procedures, including monthly closing processes, general ledger entries, and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the construction and real estate industries. Responsibilities:
1. Execute monthly and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
2. Prepare and post monthly journal entries, ensuring all business transactions are recorded.
3. Review and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
4. Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
5. Conduct monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses to support financial reporting.
6. Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial procedures and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
7. Provide support in budgeting and forecasting activities.
8. Assist in the preparation of tax returns, reports, and other documentation for auditors and regulators.
9. Maintain and update accounting records and files.
10. Analyze financial data and prepare reports to aid in decision-making.
11. Provide support to management in various special projects and ad hoc analyses as needed.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a staff accountant role.
3. Experience in the construction and real estate industries is a significant plus.
4. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong in Excel.
5. Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
6. Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
7. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
9. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
10. Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty, and ethics.
