Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Traffic Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Lead and manage traffic engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
2. Perform complex traffic engineering work including traffic signal design, traffic impact studies, traffic operations analysis, and capacity analysis.
3. Prepare and review traffic engineering reports, plans, specifications, and estimates.
4. Provide technical advice to project teams and clients on traffic engineering matters.
5. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including urban planners, architects, and civil engineers to create integrated solutions.
6. Ensure all work is compliant with DOT regulations and other relevant standards and guidelines.
7. Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor traffic conditions and identify areas for improvement.
8. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in traffic engineering.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
2. Minimum of 15 years of experience in traffic engineering or a related role.
3. Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
4. Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations and traffic engineering principles.
5. Proficiency in using traffic engineering software such as HCS, Synchro, SimTraffic, or VISSIM.
6. Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of leading and managing traffic engineering projects.
7. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex traffic engineering challenges.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to a variety of stakeholders.
9. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
