Job Details
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience, with a preference for those with a background in public accounting audit.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide variance analysis.
General Ledger Maintenance: Manage the general ledger and ensure all transactions are properly recorded and classified. Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
Internal Controls: Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Identify areas for improvement and recommend enhancements to existing processes.
Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and reviews. Prepare schedules and provide documentation as requested to support audit procedures.
Tax Compliance: Assist with tax planning and compliance activities, including the preparation of tax returns and supporting schedules. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations affecting the construction industry.
Cost Analysis: Analyze project costs and profitability. Work closely with project managers to monitor job progress, identify cost overruns or deviations from budget, and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA certification preferred.
3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to construction industry accounting practices.
