Job Details
The Senior Accountant will assist with bookkeeping for all incoming and outgoing MRS activity across multiple entities, help manage A/P and A/R, maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts, and provide support with the day-to-day needs of the finance and accounting department.
The role will work closely with another Senior Accountant and report to/support Accounting Director (CPA) in daily tasks including:
· Entering and coding invoices for processing; collecting and compiling detailed backup.
· Coordinating with multiple departments to prepare invoice support for rights, options, and other development fees. Prepare the top sheet for the invoice package.
· Invoicing networks for revenue due in accordance with contracts, milestones and compiling detailed support as backup for invoices.
· Preparing journal entries and backup for deposits received, including related intracompany entries and backup.
· Preparing billbacks to send to Production teams and Networks.
· Onboarding new vendors and verifying vendor information
· Communicating with vendors resolving any invoice billing issues.
· Reviewing charges on Company’s invoices and assisting in allocation of costs per project, if applicable.
· Coordinating with production teams on A/P relating to productions.
· Preparing cost summaries for projects in development, production, or other GL items.
Qualifications
· 3 years of experience in corporate accounting or audit, Big 4 is a plus
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field
· CPA is a plus
· Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting and financial statement reporting
· Experience managing multiple processes in an organized fashion and automating/streamlining work leveraging tech tools
Prior work experience in Film / Television is a plus
