We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Construction Safety Officer to join our high-performing team in the construction industry.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about safety, risk management, and who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
This role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry.
Responsibilities :
1. Develop, implement, and manage safety programs tailored to the needs of our construction projects.
2. Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
3. Deliver safety training programs to staff and workers, ensuring they understand and follow all safety procedures.
4. Identify potential hazards and conduct risk assessments to determine ways of reducing risks.
5. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine their causes and suggest preventive measures.
6. Maintain records of safety-related incidents and compile safety performance reports for management.
7. Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure the company is up-to-date with all safety legislation.
8. Promote a positive health and safety culture within the organization.
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management within the construction industry.
3. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
4. Extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and industry best practices.
5. Proven experience in conducting safety training, risk assessments, and safety audits.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
7. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
8. Proficient in using safety management systems and Microsoft Office suite.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
