Are you an experienced estimator with a passion for construction and a keen eye for detail? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are seeking a Permanent Multifamily Estimator to join our team in the Construction industry. This role involves preparing detailed estimates for multifamily construction projects, including apartment buildings and multi-family homes. You will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, assessing material requirements, and providing cost estimates for construction projects. You will also be required to prepare bid proposals and work with project managers to ensure the smooth running of construction projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for multifamily construction projects using software such as Procore, Buildertrend, Exactimate, Buildxact, and Planswift.
2. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
3. Prepare and submit bid proposals, ensuring they are comprehensive, competitive, and timely.
4. Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather and confirm pricing data.
5. Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data for the preparation of the estimate.
6. Track and manage changes in project scope, identifying potential risks and devising mitigation strategies.
7. Participate in preconstruction meetings and provide input on cost and feasibility.
8. Utilize your knowledge of multifamily construction to provide accurate takeoffs and estimates.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically within the multifamily sector.
2. Proficient in estimating software such as Procore, Buildertrend, Exactimate, Buildxact, and Planswift.
3. Familiarity with construction bidding and proposal preparation.
4. Excellent knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with high attention to detail.
6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels.
7. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
9. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
