Design and develop mechanical components and systems for telecommunication fiber optic products, including enclosures, connectors, and mounting solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, product managers, and manufacturing specialists, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical components.
Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate design concepts and identify potential issues early in the development process.
Utilize CAD software to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings for prototype and production manufacturing.
Perform mechanical analysis, such as stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, to validate design performance and reliability.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize product design, performance, and manufacturability.
Support product testing and validation activities, including prototype testing and compliance testing to industry standards.
Provide technical support to manufacturing and operations teams during product development and production ramp-up.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, preferably in the telecommunication or fiber optics industry.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and engineering drawings.
Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
Experience with mechanical analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD) and simulation software.
Demonstrate expertise in at least one DAS proficiency (cabling, fiber, BTS/HE, conduit/electrical)
Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to telecommunication and fiber optic products is a plus.
