Job DetailsPosition Summary The Commercial HVAC Estimator is responsible for providing accurate and timely estimates for the installation, repair, and maintenance of /Sheet Metal HVAC systems for commercial clients.
The HVAC Estimator will work closely with sales, project management, and engineering teams to ensure that all estimates meet customer specifications, comply with industry standards, and are completed on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Prepare estimates by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Responsible for estimating, purchasing, submittal review and job coordination.
- Accurately estimate plans & specifications to design/build HVAC systems using computer estimating systems and other related software
- Experience in obtaining and evaluating material, direct labor, manufacture equipment pricing and subcontractor quotes.
- Evaluate plans & specifications, and have the ability to identify discrepancies and have an understanding of how to address them accordingly
- Maintain estimating logs and unit costs for all projects
- Establish and maintain vendor relationships
- Perform site surveys and attend pre-bid walkthroughs
- Ability to manage multiple bids throughout the entire bid process simultaneously
- Possess the ability to evaluate changes, and adapt quickly throughout the bid process.
- Ability to read and interpret estimated quantities and values and assist in the procurement of equipment & materials.
- Must have at least 4 years experience with HVAC Mechanical Sheet Metal Estimating with project size $3M
- Experience with Commercial projects
- Advanced in using estimating software, onscreen takeoff
- Experience in using Trimble Autobid Mechanical & Sheet Metal (a PLUS)
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment
