Job Details:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Permanent Community Solar Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of renewable energy. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all technical aspects of our community solar projects, from initial design to final commissioning. This role requires a high level of technical expertise and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the technical design of community solar projects, including layout design, electrical design, and system optimization.
2. Utilize PVSyst or equivalent software to model solar energy production and validate design assumptions.
3. Prepare and review technical submittals, ensuring all designs meet local, state, and federal regulations, as well as project-specific requirements.
4. Collaborate with the project management team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
5. Perform quality assurance checks on engineering deliverables and provide technical support to construction teams during system installation and commissioning.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in solar technology and industry best practices, and incorporate these into project designs.
7. Work closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in solar project engineering, with a focus on community solar projects.
3. Proficiency in PVSyst or equivalent solar design software.
4. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including grid interconnection and power conversion equipment.
5. Proven experience in layout design and technical submittal preparation.
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions.
7. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
8. Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus.
9. Passionate about renewable energy and committed to driving the transition to a sustainable energy future.
