Who You’ll Work With:

Bernstein’s Global Families Institute helps individuals and families with multi-jurisdictional exposure answer complex tax and wealth transfer planning questions. Our mandate is to collaborate with clients’ other professionals, as well as internally, to provide actionable advice for clients as it relates to planning for lifetime spending, wealth transfer and philanthropy and the investment implementation of these plans. We focus first on uncovering client priorities and values, defining goals and then seek to craft a plan that meets goals in an efficient manner.

What You’ll Do:

The VP/Director – working in conjunction with Bernstein’s Wealth Strategies Research group analysts and senior investment professionals – will help develop customized solutions for the firm’s clients. This individual will take a leadership role in helping to support and expand the cross-border private wealth business.

What We’re Looking For:

We seek a trusts and estates attorney, or tax attorney with strong trusts and estates background, and 7-10 years’ law firm practice experience for the role of VP/Director, Global Families Institute.

  • Experience and a strong background in international trusts and estates and tax is required, including experience in and knowledge of foreign trust taxation, taxation of business entities and both onshore and offshore investment structures, and tax and estate planning strategies.

  • Specifically, the candidate should have experience with both inbound and outbound estate planning.

  • Additional expertise with international philanthropy is a plus.

  • Outstanding presentation skills and the ability to explain complex issues and strategies using simplified terminology.

  • Fluency in speaking Spanish language is a plus.

In accordance with applicable law, the minimum and maximum base annual salary for this role is as follows: Base Salary Range: $175,000 to $215,000. Actual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base salary is just one component of total compensation at AB, which may include, depending on eligibility, commissions, year-end incentive compensation, short- and long-term incentives and Department-specific awards. In addition AB provides a variety of benefits to eligible employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, sick and vacation time off.
